On the Plus Side

Blurb of Book:

Big girls need love, too, but at what cost?

Lilly is loaded, not only with money, but with weight. Both things she could do without. But even with her undesired millionaire status, she doesn’t hold on to false hopes of finding true love. So when a sexy stranger comes into her life dripping with seduction, she finds it hard to resist. The bigger they are the harder they fall and Lilly falls straight through the floor in love with Mr. Sexy. Too bad he’s there for all the wrong reasons.

The chance of losing it all will make you do some crazy things and Devin’s willing to do whatever it takes to keep his life together. All seems lost when out of nowhere he’s approached by a Millionaire Momma with an offer he can’t refuse. Tabatha Vargo!

About the Author: Tabatha has been writing since she could pick up a pencil. Her first publication was a little poem in her elementary school paper, from that point on she was hooked. When she was a teenager, she traded in her girly magazines for personalized writing notebooks.

At nineteen, she met her own personal prince charming and writing took a back burner for a while. She is now married to that prince and the mother of a beautiful Six year old princess/rock star. Once her daughter was born, writing came back into her life, and she finished her very first novel in May of 2009.

She is pursuing a Bachelors in English and hopes to one day teach while continuing to write.

As a stay-at-home mom and full-time student, Tabatha enjoys the freedom of spending a good bit of her days doing what she loves the most…writing.

Don't you all want to know what they really think! Humm! Well the lovely Tabatha and her main Character Devin Have agreed to do the first ever interview!

Thank you both for taking the time out of your day to answer a few questions for me. I hope you know how much it means to me! Thank you for having us!

For Tabatha

What made you decide to finally pick up a pen and start working towards that dream of writing a novel?

I was actually getting a document ready to type my very first college paper and instead of writing about what I was supposed to write, Mage's voice came through, and I just started typing. By the time I was done later that night, I had three chapters of Wicked Fate written. Yes, I got my paper turned in on time, too.

Did you find writing a "love" scene challenging?

I'm a very emotional writer, so for me, things that take a lot to write come very easily. The love scenes kind of wrote themselves. My characters are real for me, so the only thing that was strange about it, was that in some ways it was like watching them during the sex scenes. Some people might be into that, though. :p It's the boring filler stuff that's hard for me.

What was your favorite scene to write?

I really loved writing their first date. It was fun to bring Devin over to the plus side. Also, I really enjoyed all the funny dialogue that I added in. Any dialogue between Jenny and Devin was fun, too.

Was it hard to jump from Wicked Fate to the On the plus side story?

It was actually pretty easy. On the Plus Side was a breeze to write compared to Wicked Fate. I didn't have to memorize powers and all that mess since OTPS isn't paranormal/fantasy. So, in a lot of ways, it was a break for me.

Where did your inspiration come from to write such a book about plus side girl and a bad boy?

Me and my husband were the inspiration behind this story. I've been a plus size girl my entire life and when I met him he was the "playboy" type. He's tall, dark, and handsome, and I'm short and round. We're awesome, though. I love us!

Are the characters based on any actual people in your life?

Devin was based on my husband. Shannon, Lilly's best friend, was based off of a dear friend of mine that I've had since high school. Pretty much all of her friends are based on friends of mine. Also, you'll be the first to know, all of Lilly's friends will be main characters in the rest of the Chubby Girl Chronicles. The next book will be Shannon and Matt's story, and it will be titled, More to Love. I'm also considering a novella for Jenny and Josh.

Will it be a series? If yes how may many books will you have in the series?

The Series will be called the Chubby Girl Chronicles, but none of them will have cliffhangers. Each book in the series will be able to stand alone.

Are there any new writers that have grasped your interests!

All I've read recently are new writers and I'm amazed by the amount of talent, but to name them all would take all night. I read a lot!

If there is one thing about your book that you want people to take away from the story what would that be?

Everyone has battle scars from life. Whether you were picked on in school for being too fat or too skinny, whether you had braces or bad skin, we all have something that's not perfect. In life bad things happen and those bad things are what mold us into the people we were meant to become. I hope that everyone who reads this walks away knowing that while it might not be today or tomorrow, one day you'll look back and appreciate that it happened. Learn from your battle scars, let your wounds become wisdom.

A little about you!

Pink, black, purple

Favorite music group?

Yeah right...I listen to EVERYTHING!

Favorite junk food?

Favorite Admin on great books (LOL)?

Mira!!!!!

For Devin!

Have you read Tabatha's Books?

I haven't. I'm not much of a reader, but my sister read it and said it was pretty awesome.

Did you think coming into an event would be as umm. Interesting as it is?

I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I do. I know women get a little a wild, but some of them girls in there are CRAZY! I like that.

How would you describe your self if you had to?

I'm just a laid back dude. I like to have a few drinks with my boys and play pool. I stick to myself and stay out of drama and I try to be a good guy. I don't always succeed at the whole good thing, but at least I try.

Do you agree with the fact Tabatha sees you as her bad boy and do you see your self that way?

I guess I can see where it comes from. I've never claimed to be a settled down kind of dude. I like women and women like me, so until I'm too old, or until some woman hooks me, I'm going to live it up and have a good time while I do.

A little about you!

Favorite movie?

Fast and Furious and all the Batman movies.

Favorite Color?

Green

Favorite music group?

I don't really have a favorite group, but I mostly listen to rock.

Favorite junk food?

Debbie Cakes

Favorite past time?

I like playing pool and hanging out. Having a couple of beers with my boys and playing some Xbox. Normal guy stuff.

Favorite Admin on great books (LOL)?

Mira :p

I most certainly have a thing for redheads. Every redhead I've ever met was wild and fun. I like a carefree woman that knows how to let her hair down and have a good time. Plus, they're fun in the bedroom.

Thank you again for letting me pick your brains for a little while!

Reviews:

“This was such a surprising and amazing read. Alicia Michaels takes the reader on an adventure he/she will never forget. Selena is actually a missing princess of Fallada, a world full of astounding characters dominated by Faeries. Not only that, but an evil Faerie wants her dead so what does this woman do? She takes a werewolf family hostage and sends their son, Titus, on a mission to kill Selena. If he fails, his family will die. Throw in a little Grimm brothers, a spunky best friend, and some unlikely characters and this story comes ALIVE! Michaels is so wonderfully descriptive! I felt like I was inside the book. I felt Selena's conflicts and Titus' conflict, took a journey of self-discovery with Selena, and experienced a romance that seems doomed to fail before it even starts. I won't give anymore away. Books like this are made to be discovered, to be savored, and to be felt long after the last page is turned.”
--R.K. Ryals, author of the Redemption Series

“A marvelous adventure, and very addictive. I was swept into the tale very fast, and Alicia's descriptive details about Fallada help me picture this wonderful world filled with remarkable creatures. I loved reading how a fearful Selena embraced her destiny and became the daughter of the red dawn. Even more was the steamy love between her and Titus. If you are looking for a fabulous fae read, this is it. I am anxiously awaiting the second addition to this wonderful story.”
